Have you or are you currently having electrical pain into your hands or arms? This is typically caused by a nerve being pinched in one of three places:
Your neck-compression of a nerve root that exits the spine can get compressed by the surrounding joint and tissue.
Upper shoulder- Your brachial plexus is located in your upper shoulder and neck area. Sometimes these nerves can get impinged by surrounding muscles that are too tight causing that burning pain.
Arm or hand- The local nerve itself can get pinched by an adjacent joint, tight muscles, or inflamed tendons.
I recently had a patient experiencing these symptoms and after assessing the neck we discovered the pain was radiating from the neck. After a single adjustment to the neck she immediately regained feeling in her left hand and the pressure was relieved. She was so grateful and excited to get rid of that. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, be sure to take care of them quickly so they don't develop into a long lasting condition!
